We all have events in our past that we wish didn’t happen. And we bring them up – with our friends, colleagues, family, coaches. Usually in a way that is disempowering, as we still harbour negative feelings about them.

Your past doesn’t define you. You might not realise it, but you can change not the actual events that took place but what you think about them. You can change the story about your past.

There are the events, and then what you make of them. The limitations or fears or regrets that stem from those events. But you can choose instead to reframe the meaning you attribute to the past. So it feels more freeing and more empowering.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • The typical thoughts we pick up based on past circumstances
  • How to move beyond arguing with the past
  • 2 powerful exercises to reshape your thinking around your life journey so far, or specific scenarios that took place
  • Why a different story is beneficial to you

I also share in this episode examples from my own life journey so you can understand the concept of choosing the story of your past.

Please share this episode with your friends and colleagues especially those who have suffered from setbacks, failures or unfortunate circumstances. This will help anyone looking to feel better and no longer feel impacted by what happened in the past.
