I have decided to talk about the B word. Burnout.

I know it well, unfortunately. Burnout and I got up close and personal five years ago. But without it, I wouldn’t be here writing these words and being a coach. It was the catalyst of my career change.

Burnout is an epidemic. Because the behaviours leading to it are currently being praised and rewarded in our society and workplaces.

So in this first part episode I am bringing you what you need to know if you think you might be burning out, or how to avoid going down the stress slope too far.

I openly share the learnings of my personal journey of overwork, stress and health issues. Because I want to help other people to identify when too much is too much. And not pushing on when your body is sending you signals it can’t cope for much longer. It’s tough because we all want to keep going.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • How burnout shows up and its typical signs on a physical, mental and emotional level
  • What are all the factors leading us to that place
  • 6 strategies to prevent burnout and keep a better balance
  • What happens when you don’t listen to your body

You will be able to tell the difference between being moderately stressed and being on the way to burnout. And you will be able to assess your particular situation against the list of symptoms provided.

Please share this episode with anyone who is stressed out and always pushing throughout their days. This is such an important message to share with the masses, with so many of us being told to do more and having few boundaries.
