[CAREER CHANGE SERIES: EPISODE 3 OUT OF 4]

Now that you know are progressing into your reflection about career change (if you have missed them, make sure you listen to part 1 here and part 2 here), I will bet that you are also coming across some obstacles and worries. And this is totally normal, and part of the journey. That is why I’m covering in this third part what to do about these thoughts. 

Typically your inner critic starts serving you lots of questions, doubts and worries about your new career direction: what if it doesn’t work? Maybe you don’t even know what to do? These are usual signs of resistance, which always come about with any change. 

In this episode I firstly take you through this resistance – explaining why it is happening. So that you can relax and let the fears be whilst you can still progress on your journey. 

Next I share with you the 5 main obstacles that come up:

  • Uncertainty about what is the right career for you
  • Uncertainty about how to get there
  • Fear of impact on others or on finances
  • Fear of things not working out
  • Imposter syndrome

For each obstacle, I dissect the fear at the core of the resistance and give you tools to overcome it. You will feel more at peace and confident that you can figure the path out and take steps towards your dream.
