Are you someone who tends to forget that you can ask for help? Or who finds it quite uncomfortable? Do you know you should delegate more, but aren’t practically doing it?

Asking for help doesn’t come naturally to many of us. This podcast episode uncovers why we do this, starting from our childhood and sometimes even a lack of self-awareness,

When we don’t ask for support:

  • We hold back because of fears of being judged as incompetent, not knowledgeable enough or needy
  • We do too much on our own which affects our well-being and level of happiness
  • It costs us in professional advancement, along with our team members

We tend to be afraid of how others might respond to our request, or how we would be perceived. However we don’t control other people’s reactions or opinions of us.

What if what we believed about help was a false impression? What if we could be both strong and allowing someone to support us? Both competent and able to delegate effectively? In fact our sense of worth and asking for help are two separate things that are not correlated.

In this episode, I show you how help doesn’t mean a negative, a drawback for you, a loss of some part of your worth, reputation or competency. You can be BOTH asking for help and still be whole from a personal or professional point of view. It’s time to drop the stigma around help, realise what you are leaving on the table and start reaping more benefits for yourself.
